Attitudes

"Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?"

"If you take care of it."

"What do you have to do?"

"Lot's of things. You've been watching me."

"Will you show me all of them?"

"Sure."

"It is hard?"

"Not if you have the right attitudes. It's having the right attitudes that's hard."

"Oh."

From Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values by Robert M. Pirsig.

Thanks to Dick for the reminder.

Great book. I once heard that life was 10% of what you make it and 90% of how you take it. I guess in the end attitude makes a person who they are.
