It is not true that all "religious" Jews and Christians share that view. Some religious folks believe in a less concrete, benevolent force that does not have extermination of populations as part of a divine plan. I'm trying, as my beloved Mary, Rev. Sandi, and Abuelita have suggested, to be more tolerant. I'm failing. These folks give me the creeps. They seem to yearn for a nuclear Armageddon to fulfill what they believe are are prophesies. Jingoistic rallies may make them smile,

My Papi thought the sky is as blue in his land as in ours. He didn't wear a flag lapel pin. thank you John Prine for helping us remember that nationalism isn't one of the criteria for "getting to heaven".
Virg: These guys are way at one end of the scale. Others, with whom we'd also disagree, are at the other. I'm trying to live somewhere in the middle, believing that the benevolent Divine doesn't have extermination of populations as part of a divine plan. I don't ever want to be tolerant of what I believe is wrong; however that wrong is expressed, but am trying to love justice, do mercy, and walk humbly with God. That's what's required.
