We might be a hell of a lot better off if only women could vote.

and that's usually the problem.......
And a lot better off if only grandmothers could be heads of state!
They could vote, but it took them a while to get the hang of it. With the advent of women voting in 1920, the next three presidents elected were Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover. Not an auspicious beginning.
