We miss you Goose. You thrilled us, made us laugh & died too young. Sorry that you didn't get a shot at playing either sport at the University of Arkansas.
On a semi-related note, Virgil misses the days when there was more versatility, like Goose had in two sports, in one sport-football. When players went both ways, they were smaller, faster, and healthier. If kids are going to emulate athletes, better that they not have force fed behemoths as models.
On another semi-related note, Virgil highly recommends the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City and the contiguous American Jazz Museum.

Very strange that the title of the article reads, ‘Reece "Goose" Tatum-The Only Man To Play Both Baseball & Basketball Professionally ‘ when there have been numerous folk to play Baseball and hoops as a pro. But Goose was da bomb…
Good point. Virg, have you ever heard of Michael Jordon?
Who?
Time prohibits me but…Chuck Connors (The Rifleman) and Dave DeBusschere (sp?), etc.
Never heard of um.
You never were one to let facts get in your way Virgil.
What's the difference between the Rolling Stones and Angus MacGregor?
The Rolling Stones say, "Hey you, get off of my cloud."
Angus says, "Hey McCloud, get off of my ewe."
Angus:
I'm disappointed in you for starting this bickering again.
Virgil:
Your prejudice against other species is hurtful. If you have to ridicule, at least get it right. I'm a goat-not a sheep. Angus & I are in a committed, exclusive relationship, and I resent your implication even if made in jest.
