NOVEMBER 17 IS A VERY SPECIAL DAY

1967 -President Lyndon Johnson says "we are making progress" in the Vietnam War:
1970 - Lieutenant William Calley goes on trial for the My Lai massacre.
1973 - Richard Nixon declared "I am not a crook."
2005-Conservative Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania, said "It is evident that continued military action in Iraq is not in the best interests of the United States of America, the Iraqi people or the Persian Gulf region," "Our military is suffering, the future of our country is at risk." . . . "people with five deferments" [referring to Dick Cheney] have no right to condemn critics of the Iraq war.
*After serving in the Marines in the early 1950's, [Mr. Murtha] re-enlisted in 1966, at the age of 34, and served in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross for Gallantry, according to The Almanac of American Politics." See, New York Times article
