Sally, your Cousin Jim, & James T. Bruce were the lawyers for the people in this case. Please quit making them look incompetent. That was a time, before you were born. There were V2 rockets & cryptosporidium. They would not let a virus into evidence. Ft. Smith had all the meanness of the delta and none of the gentility. The Court could determine as a matter of law that that the Clear Water Act created Mr. Maner’s job. As James T. said, “ That was back when the court was in congress, when an man could testify what his wife's doctor told her but she could not say what he said herself, when the 8th circuit could recognize a plethora of error and suggest a retirement (now they just have a plethora of judges that need to be retired). That was back when a Dr. was just a Dr. and not an expert and when Tyson "certainly" would not knowing fail to adequately treat sewage and when twelve crazy citizens could listen to a cesspool of evidence about a large corporation screwing an entire community of people out of their drinking water and award the number mentioned. . . . It was a soul burning experience that aged me and I suspect others measurably. Yet a defining and tempering experience." (Btw, we got it reversed on appeal with instructions to give a punitive damage instruction the next time. It never went to trial again.) Now, Sally, have another drink. You're one of the best 20 year old mothers I know.
