I was in the grocery store the other day and ran into a woman whom I'd never met before but we talked and found that we had both been a missionary position in the Philippines some years ago-She in Baguio & me in Leyte. We burst into a rousing version of Lupang Hinirang, and people looked at us a little funny and we went our separate ways without exchanging names. We sounded somethin like this:
It's one of my favorite songs. BTW the word "bundok" (mountain) in line "Sa dagat at bundok" (In the seas and mountains) is the root word for our word boondocks. Our boys picked it up during the occupation.
