Do You Believe That Boehner Should Stop Betraying the Nation By Being a Whore for Monied Special Interests?

Now, on a lighter note, did you know that the words "race car" spelled backwards still spell "race car"?
And that "eat" is the only word that, if you take the first letter and move it to the last, spells its own past tense, "ate"?
But wait. There's more!
And if you rearrange the letters in "Tea Party Republicans," and add
just a few more letters, it spells: "Shut the fuck up you free-loading,
progress-blocking, benefit-grabbing, resource-sucking, violent hypocrites,
and deal with the fact that you nearly wrecked the country under Bush and
that our President is black, so get over it."

The Act of Proscription, passed by the Sassenach Parliament, went into effect on 1 August, 1746. It banned, inter alia, the wearing of kilts. If you believe in freedom, wear a kilt on the first day of August.

Former Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards recently completed his federal racketeering sentence.

Now both Roemer and Duke are talking about running for president. Edwin would still be better than either of those two. Tom T. would be better yet.

I'll Kiss Rick Perry's Sociopathic Ass if Either the Statue of Liberty is a Demonic Idol; Oprah Winfrey is the Harbinger of the Antichrist; or if God Approves of Rick’s Shenanigans.
Rick Perry’s plan for solving our economic woes is to have a prayer rally in a Texas stadium, for Christians only. Those who will lead the praying will include those who believe that:
1) Tolerance for homosexuality caused the September 11th attacks,
2) Oprah Winfrey is the harbinger of the Antichrist,
3) The deadly Japanese earthquake was caused by the Emperor having sex with a demon,
4) The repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell caused bird deaths in Arkansas
5) Violence should be considered to overthrow President Obama,.
6) The Statue of Liberty is in fact a demonic idol.

It sounds like blasphemy to me Rick. That said, maybe getting rid of the Statue of Liberty would be an appropriate if you were elected. Why have a statue honoring an outdated idea? Snuffing Obama, Oprah, and homosexuals, though would actually be devastating to our economy. My guess is that, aside from constitutional issues and the likelihood that we would lose our world leadership role because other nations would think that our leaders are lunatics, banning sex with demons would probably be harmless.

Afternoon ponderings
I never went to camp but Poet Billy Collins did.
The Lanyard - Billy Collins
The other day I was ricocheting slowly
off the blue walls of this room,
moving as if underwater from typewriter to piano,
from bookshelf to an envelope lying on the floor,
when I found myself in the L section of the dictionary
where my eyes fell upon the word lanyard.
No cookie nibbled by a French novelist
could send one into the past more suddenly—
a past where I sat at a workbench at a camp
by a deep Adirondack lake
learning how to braid long thin plastic strips
into a lanyard, a gift for my mother.
I had never seen anyone use a lanyard
or wear one, if that’s what you did with them,
but that did not keep me from crossing
strand over strand again and again
until I had made a boxy
red and white lanyard for my mother.
She gave me life and milk from her breasts,
and I gave her a lanyard.
She nursed me in many a sick room,
lifted spoons of medicine to my lips,
laid cold face-cloths on my forehead,
and then led me out into the airy light
and taught me to walk and swim,
and I, in turn, presented her with a lanyard.
Here are thousands of meals, she said,
and here is clothing and a good education.
And here is your lanyard, I replied,
which I made with a little help from a counselor.
Here is a breathing body and a beating heart,
strong legs, bones and teeth,
and two clear eyes to read the world, she whispered,
and here, I said, is the lanyard I made at camp.
And here, I wish to say to her now,
is a smaller gift—not the worn truth
that you can never repay your mother,
but the rueful admission that when she took
the two-tone lanyard from my hand,
I was as sure as a boy could be
that this useless, worthless thing I wove
out of boredom would be enough to make us even.

Ozark's Bois D'Arc
We called um Bodark. The Swearingens said that local tribes made their bows out of them. I knew even then that if a Swearingen says it, you can take it to the bank. The Osage and even Comanches used it. Some call the tree and the fruit the Osage Orange, Others say Horse Apple, Hedge Apple, or Maclura pomifera. There's a theory that the name Ozark came from it-Either Bois D'Ark (Wood of the Bow) or Aux Arc (of, to, or from the bow). Yes ma'am, this place was overrun by French before we started calling um Freedoms. See, also Tom Beveridge's Ozarks Chap. 1.

Abhainn Dearg
Abhainn Dearg Distillery on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides is producing Scotch Whisky, the first legal whisky in over 200 years. I had the pleasure of sampling some of the spirit (not yet whisky because it's only 3 years old). It is wonderful. Pictured here is the small keg from which it came. Below is pictured the whisky thief through which the spirit was removed. It can be ordered on line. Cuz tried it and loved it too. It looks like he picked the wrong week to quit drinking.
Differences Between Pat Robertson & Alfred E. Neuman.
Alfred has one less tooth than Pat and has integrity. Pat has to know that God doesn't give a hoot about someone's sexual preference. Jesus taught that we should be kind to those less fortunate, but.never mentioned homosexuality. (It is certainly not "sodomy."
