A Man Will Hear What He Wants To Hear And Disregard The Rest.
I've seen it, and the First Amendment just does not read like this.
It's ok to believe in the Baby Jesus though and to think everyone else is wrong if they don't. See, Bobby Family Values. It's just that the goverment can't make us believe or disbelieve anything. That's a wonderful thing that makes this the land of the free. Do I hear an amen Elder Leland?

Dying Like Doctors.
“'Promise me if you find me like this that you’ll kill me' . . .Some medical personnel wear medallions stamped “NO CODE” to tell physicians not to perform CPR on them. I have even seen it as a tattoo. . . . How has it come to this–that doctors administer so much care that they wouldn’t want for themselves? The simple, or not-so-simple, answer is this: patients, doctors, and the system.. . . .Hospice care, which focuses on providing terminally ill patients with
comfort and dignity rather than on futile cures, provides most people
with much better final days. Amazingly, studies have found that people
placed in hospice care often live longer than people with the same
disease who are seeking active cures." How Doctors Die- It’s Not Like the Rest of Us, But It Should Be. Ken Murray, MD

Though “Sassenaugh” was an insult to some of my ancestors, we speak the name of Æthelflæd with the same reverence as we do the names of Alaisiagae, Aoife, and Boadicea. We are of one blood. Thank you for life my mothers.

THE WHITE ESTABLISHMENT - It is a cultural reality. The Southern colonies were initially established by the third sons of english aristocracy, driven by inheritance law, and the indentured servants, prisoners and slaves they brought over. Hence a class society in which you are suppose to know and respect your betters. With this comes a primitive view of religion that holds everything as ordained on high. Indeed a central function of a church in such a society is to justify the social order. It is god's will that the big man lives in the big house (they are the job creators you see) and god's will that blacks should be slaves.
The South was/is a culture dominated by belief values that never fully accepted the liberal democratic ideals that sprang from reason and inquiry, so well absorbed in the northern states, populated as they were by a single class of emigrants, most fleeing the rule of the big man.
The northern states evolved a middle class and professional society that emphasized education, free thought, equality and pursuit of science. The tea party was in Boston remember, the South came slowly and reluctantly to the revolution.
Because agricultural practices were so harsh on the land, the inland southern states were progressively populated from this same cultural pool, moving ever westward for fresh land. Being southern born I have to say the south has its virtues or rather there are virtuous sides to its flaws, blind loyalty being one of them; they know how to wave a flag and die for it.
The irony is that the red states peoples believe themselves to be the true Americans largely on the basis of this type of unquestioning loyalty but in reality America's founding political ideals are best expressed in the progressive blue states that drove the original revolution and that have driven the nation's progress and subsidized the South even today as it is still scared by it perverse refusal to educate and empower its people; this to in the interest of keeping wages low for the big man.
An even larger irony is that the Republican party now owns the Southern side of the ongoing civil war (it has never really ended) and the Democrats have adopted the yankees. That itself is an interesting story, born in the civil rights movement where the Democratic party had to choose between it intellectual labor driven values it had picked up over time and the inherited racism of it geographic roots. The Republican party, for two generations in the wilderness as an opposition minority party, could not resist the temptation to broaden its base at the expense of its own traditional values and here we are and here it is, locked into catering and empowering the racist religious ignorance demographic of America. What a tragedy but Bill does not see it. No, his stress is that the South is losing again.

An Email Exchange Accross the Fence.
Damn. You still don't get it, do
you!?!
OK I'll try me more time...
It's not that the Demos have a
"better get out the vote machine", it's that their message is one of
Love, Peace, Caring, Respect and Helping their fellow human being. Sometimes
they can go overboard, such as LBJs "Great Society" welfare program.
But they genuinely show love and compassion for their fellow citizens.
Whereas the Republicans have a
dog-eat-dog, devil-take-the-hindmost, shoot first ask questions later, torture
is great, the one with the most toys wins (and gets to make all the rules),
government is bad bad bad, the person with the bigger bank account is a better
person than any of them horrible ugly poooor people, worship of the giant
Golden $ (see the ending of Atlas Shrugged) philosophy.
From the day Obama was first elected
the Republican Party stated that they were going to ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in
their power to sabotage his Presidency. And they have. But when they did this
they were sabotaging MY COUNTRY! DAMMIT! They fought tooth and nail everything
Obama tried to do, even when it was something that they would be all for had
someone with an (R) after their name proposed it! The Republican Party crawled
into the bed of furthest right wing religious racist fanatics and stroked their
cocks hoping it would "excite their base"... They have driven from
their party the bespectacled, intelligent, moderate by championing the rebel
flag waving, rotten tooth, low IQ, the earth is only 6000 yrs old, jock-strap
chewing troglodyte. Their champions are the Sarah Palins, the Ann Coulters, the
Rush Limbaaaaaaahhhhhhhgghgs... Why the fuck can't you see this shit? The Barry
that live on the 3rd floor of that old house next to Audubon Park with Larry
and listened to Firesign Theater records would have...
What you saw yesterday is the result... And unless the Republicans learn that respect for intelligence and compromise are qualities that they should embrace then it will only get worse for them.
P.S. I did not write this but it sums things up pretty well in a spontanious way.

Comparative Intelligence of Selected Mammalian Species.
The food bin was recommended and installed by an engineer, a lawyer, a teacher, and a professional carpenter. The first night, the coons got the lid off. After the lid was secured, the coons started using the lever. They left the great mound of food, pictured here, on the porch. The cats apparently couldn't figure out what the mound was and appeared to be starving until the food was scooped from the mound and placed in their bowls.

Should it surprise us that it
happened or that they threw her out? Shouldn't the candidates whose campaigns
depend upon the sentiment go with them? It is confusing to me. In either event, it seems unfair that Issac interfered with
the GOP (Good Old Party) convention. I wonder if they would agree to extend it if kind hearted
democrats would agree to pay for it.

MITT ROMNEY WAS BORN IN PARAGUAY?
CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS! UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE ROMNEY BORN IN PARAGUAY! DID ROMNEY COMMIT FELONY VOTER FRAUD? "
I just got this in an email from JT, a bi-partisan birther. I checked with a couple of sources I trust who didn't buy this theory. One believed that Romney’s ancestors were born in Mexico, where they had fled to avoid picky U.S. laws that marriage was only between one man and one woman.”
The other said that Romney was born in Mexico where many of his relatives still live and are part of the governing class there. He has also heard “that he and his family there are in a conspiracy with the NRA to arm what are alleged to be drug cartel criminals but are actually a mix of Mexican and American revolutionaries feed up with pinko-liberalism in this country. They intend to infiltrate the government, particularly the National Guard. Then, and this is the critical part, they intend to force through the UN a treaty that will join Mexico to the United States using China's leverage as our largest creditor to make us accept it. Mexico will become the fifty first state. Once that is done they will have the votes in congress to enact Akins forced pregnancy laws, decriminalize legitimate rape, move the capital to Salt Lake City and make Catholic-Mormonism the official Religion. Forced prayer returned to the schools and silly stuff like evolution and biology removed, God will once again smile upon America. With this done all that will need to be done is to get the job creators on an earned income tax credit, so they can just tap the treasury directly, toss the welfare moms onto the street and prosperity will abound. This is what I hear anyway. Might not all be true but pretty sure some of it is.” JT is "pretty sure that Mexico stuff is just a distraction from the true Paraguay story, though unfounded rumors do abound about the untimely, suspect death of the obstetrician." He claims to have actually known a boy who was born on the Paraguay Plantation. "He used to bring big round straw hats and real colorful clothes to grade school for show and tell day and talk about snakes there and that his dad had some other wives and some other kids he hadn't met."
In any event here's the Paraguay version for what it's worth:
This is a must email for you to
send to ALL PATRIOTIC
CITIZENS! The strange and bizarre
unfolding story of Romney’s
foreign birth is now nearly beyond despute!
HERE
ARE THE FACTS:
*Most Americans by now know of
the Mexican Mormon Colony where Romney’s grandfather went in protest to the US
Supreme Court’s outlawing of polygamy.
But few remember a second colony, farther away, in the mountains 50
miles north of Ascension, Paraguay, dubbed informally “the
Paraguay Plantation”.
*Records recovered from the FAA
show a flight plan filed from Park
City, Utah, to Ascension, Paraguay, on March 7, 1947. The plane returned March 16, 1947, 2357 hrs.
*A flight
plan was filed from Battle Creek, Michigan, to Park City,
Utah, for a private plane, for March 6,
1947. The pilot: the Romney family obstetrician. No record exists of the plane’s return—Freedom of Information request returned as
unavailable.
*Doctors, as we all know, sign
many, many things daily, from prescriptions to patient charts and other medical
forms and records. Regular visits are
made in particular to the newborn by delivering physicians in the period immediately
after birth. Harper’s Hospital, Detroit, where Romney
shows to have been born on his birth certificate can produce no signed
documents for his obstetrician between March 7 and March 17, though many
exist for days just before and just after that time.
*It is customary in Michigan for
birth certificates to be submitted the day after birth. Romney’s was not submitted until March 18,
1947. Michigan law requires
submission to the state within 7 days.
Romney has so far refused to release his birth certificate, but a copy
obtained by reliable sources show it to have been signed by his obstetrician on
March 9,
2012.
*Willard
Mitt Romney was born MARCH 9, 1947!
*Why, one would wonder, would it
be so important for a children of members of the CHURCH OF
LATTER DAY SAINTS to be born
in Paraguay? Why all the secrecy? Here’s why:
Polygamy was the norm for many of Paraguay’s indigenous tribes, was
still legal there until the late ‘70s, and, unlike Mexico, it offered
citizenship to anyone born there, even if they were children of foreign
nationals. This is true of no other
western hemisphere country! Given the
history of persecution of Mormons—first in New York State, then on to Missouri
and Illinois, and elsewhere, and most recently by the US Supreme Court in
criminalizing polygamy,--Church elders reasoned that if Mormon children were
born in Paraguay under cover of secrecy, those children would have citizenship
in a homeland in the event persecution in the United States persisted or
increased. A safety valve, if you will,
a safe haven. If things got bad enough
in the US, the fraud could be admitted and the children repatriated to
Paraguay, a country rich in natural resources and ripe for colonization by
industrious folk like the LDSers. No crime
would have been committed by the children, only by the well-meaning adults who
arranged the fraud. Leaked documents
from the Tabernacle contain ample references to the plan, and, in some cases,
partial lists of the names of kids so born—mostly from prominent families who
could stand the expense of the journey—still exist. None, apparently, survive for the year
1947. Or so sources in the inner LDS
sanctum suggest.
*There is no proof that Romney
knew the secret of his birth, at least until his stint at the Salt Lake City
Olympics, about which more below.
*While much of the “Paraguay
Plantation Project” is still shrouded in secrecy, absolute proof of its
existence and practices surfaced in a most surprising way around the time of
the Salt Lake City Olympics. LDS
Leaders, conducting a review of the Church’s postmortem baptism practices, unearthed a scandal, mostly hushed up
at the time, in which some LDS renegades were selling SSNs of deceased persons
to parties mixed up in identity fraud.
As is well known, LDSers had been using the Social
Security Archive since the early 40’s,--public record, and
free—and the best source for a wealth of names of dead persons, with deaths
updated in those days yearly, and identified by Social Security Number. The Mormon connection came to light in the
investigation of some of the early Nigerian Scams. The LDS leaders did the right thing and ended
the practice, and disciplined the wrongdoers.
But in the course of the investigation they also discovered that many of
the babies born in Paraguay between 1944 and 1961, when the House UnAmerican Activities Committee
(HUAC) effectively was put to rest, had been issued social security numbers
of the dead retrieved from the Mormon files, RATHER IN THE FASHION THAT OBAMA’S GRANDMOTHER IS SAID TO HAVE OBTAINED
HIS SSN. Romney is not, repeat NOT,
implicated in this fraud—the wealthier families could afford the elaborate
arrangements to obviate the need for more fabrication of records.
*
Interestingly enough, the Plantation was closed in 1969, when, as
happens with faraway colonial projects, the colony members got Mormon theology
mixed up with “The Summer of Love” and hippy counterculture --One of the
Grateful Dead members had been brought up a Mormon, and his visit to his sister
in Paraguay prompted the apostacy.
*Flash forward to the Salt Lake
City Olympics. Romney’s prominence in
the LDS Community had to mean that he knew of the SSN scandals detailed above,
and, if so, he may have learned that his own birth was subject to question. If so, and he learned of it at the time, he
had, at that point committed no crimes. BUT IF HE VOTED IN ANY ELECTION AFTER THAT, A FELONY
HAS BEEN COMMITTED, as he was not a US Citizen and knew his
vote to be make in the commission of voter fraud.
COINCIDENCE?
ENOUGH CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE TO PROVE THE CASE IN AN AMERICAN COURT OF
LAW! THE ONLY POSSIBLE LEGAL CONCLUSION:
MITT
ROMNEY WAS BORN IN PARAGUAY!
A Rainy Day’s Reflection.
Among the 3,400 human dead at the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern was the uncle of my grandfather, A.H. Snoddy, and Cuz's grandmother, Dial Pearl Estelle Snoddy Prim.
I can't remember his first name. They drove a wagon from Johnson
County to Pea Ridge to pick up the body. That's about 110 miles each way.
Cuz walked it yesterday in honor of our fallen Snoddy ancestor and of Col. Hezekiah Vibram and his valiant Five Fingers Brigade. (No, Nicole, according to all accounts, he didn't. Apparently women in them days saw things as you do.)

Roadkill
My first thoughts occurred when I pondered the artist’s
meaning of the subject “Roadkill”. It was disturbing for two reasons, one was
that the roadkill described was visually a human figure and two a mythological
bird like figure was seemingly eating the corpse on the road.
Over the years I have contemplated the plight of life that I
have witnessed being extinguished on highways by manmade vehicles. Quite gory
and somewhat disturbing to me was the desire to photograph those mangled bodies
known as road kill.
This image by Criswell seemed to be saying that we are
witnessing the continuing slaughter of mankind not only here on our highways
but also across the globe and even more pathetic in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Just like the animals
scattered on our roads, the human losses in war have mostly been ignored,
unless a death victim is a relative or friend. The human mind tries to protect
itself from the horrors of everyday life and from going “crazy”.
An excellent commentary in the Democrat Gazette recently by
Dave Perozek on how we as humans are ignoring the ongoing slaughter of our
young people in the unjust wars they are being asked to fight . The two major
political parties have rarely mentioned these conflicts in the campaign
rhetoric. I continue to sadly read the obituaries of the fallen daily in the
newspaper, maybe the list should be placed on the front page in red letters but
then over time we would ignore those. How quickly we turn our attention away
from issues when someone says we are getting our troops out of the country in
conflict. It’s like it’s over but the bodies keep coming home in coffins.
All of this is best summarized by Waylon Jennings in his
1978 hit “I’ve always been crazy” being crazy has “kept me from going insane”.

I don't question Dr. Smith. I'm sure that some newspaper reported this, but no Snoddy would do or say anything racist and certainly not the nephew of Dial Pearl Estelle Snoddy Prim and the Grandfather of Marianne Pratt Guhman, both bleeding hearts and champions of the civil rights of all.

Tennessee bring balance to its education system
Well there are nearly seven billion people in the world and growing. Should be plain to the simplest mind that this is a train wreak going somewhere to happen. Fortunately the progressive people of Tennesse have a brilliant solution: don't teach sex in school. If everyone would follow Tennessee's example young people, ignorant of the subject, would not have sex - bingo, problem solved. Perhaps we should redouble this by making it illegal for parents to teach sex before marriage as well. This should work Right?
There is also a hidden beauty in this action as it brings symmetry to the Tennessee education system, as the quality of sex education will now be in line with that of science, history and critical thinking.

Interview with Ann Romney
Ann Romney: “What mother doesn’t face that all-important choice-Do I take a well paid job from Daddy and have an au pair raise my children or be a stay at home mom? That way, I get to watch her raise them”
Mrs. Betty Bower: “Ann what do you say to those whiney Mother Hubbards out there on welfare?”
Ann Romney: “These gals on food stamps need to let their housekeepers know that proper nutrition does not mean having a fresh lobster every night. Good golly, try a standing rib roast or a fresh cut rack of lamb. Mix things up.”
Mrs. Betty Bower: “But sadly I’ve heard rumors about families who go without food for their chefs to prepare.”
Ann Romney: “Well, no matter how hungry you get, remember, those thoroughbreds in your stable are for dressage-not sausage.”

"Abide With Me" Transcends.
This powerful Christian hymn was a favorite of Mahatma Gandhi's and is still used by the Indian military in "Beating Retreat" ceremonies.
It's still sung in the USA too, thank God.
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word,
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.
Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings;
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.
Thou on my head in early youth didst smile,
And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee.
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;

New Way to Discover The Mind of God.
"I saw this while being driven this afternoon. While I'm relieved to see
that, after many millennia of drowning pregnant women in Great Floods
(Genesis 6-7), slaughtering first-born sons (Exodus:12:29-30) and
instructing Israelites to stone kids
(Deuteronomy 21:18), hack open pregnant women and smash youngsters to
pieces (Hosea 13:16), the Lord has decided to do such a 180-degree turn
by suddenly becoming 'pro-life.' My only surprise is that He decided to
announce such a radical departure from everything He's ever said and
done on a bumper sticker! But who says you can't teach an old god new
tricks? Glory!" Mrs. Betty Bowers

Rita Jean Snoddy Davis (1931-2012)
Clan Snoddy morns the loss of one of its finest. We thank Sid for being a loving caring husband to her. He was with her and cared for her through the entire long fight. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sid, her children, her sister Mary, and all who loved her, some of whom are mentioned in this obituary:
FAYETTEVILLE — Rita Jean Snoddy Davis of
Fayetteville, Ark., died April 16, 2012, at her home. Her husband, Sid, and
daughter, Cathy, were with her. Rita was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Coal Hill, Ark.,
to Rita Arnold Snoddy and Jim Snoddy.
She grew up in Mulberry, Ark., and graduated from Van Buren, Ark., High
School. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BSBA and later
obtained her master’s degree in public administration. She taught at
Fayetteville High School and served Fayetteville on the City Planning Commission.
She served for many years as Federal Court Clerk for Judges Paul X Williams and
Frank Waters. A lifelong Democrat, she endowed the Rita Snoddy Davis Access
Arkansas Scholarship for the outstanding political science major in the
University of Arkansas’s Fulbright College.
Rita will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving, fair and open
person who never met a stranger. She was brave, loyal, generous and outspoken.
With her adventurous spirit, she and Sid traveled widely making friends
wherever they were. Rita was a consummate friend to both old friends and new.
She and Sid were known for their hospitality, opening their home for happy
occasions in Fayetteville and at their second home at Lake Tahoe, Nev.
To remember Rita is to remember what a Razorback fan she was, especially a
fan of basketball. Rita and her mother flew on the plane with Eddie Sutton’s
basketball team to the Alaska Shootout in Anchorage in 1980, the first year the
team was in that tournament. To remember Rita is also to remember her with a
book or the New York Times. She was a great reader and a great learner.
Rita’s affiliations include Delta Delta Delta, PEO and the Modern Literature
Club.
